This is our Stadium finally completed. We had 3 - 4 weeks to fully work on it, so we didn't have that much time to create this wonderful piece of architecture. We all contributed to the major project fairly, with groups of 2 or 3 working on one aspect of the Stadium project. I think that our stadium is better than the other two classes that worked on Second life.

My Second Life Story

It’s 1935 and the new team StAlbans GFC (StAlbans Gaelic Football Club) has been formed. There has been lots of talk that the team is the best team going around. They are yet to play a game but the players that they have on their list is amazing; Players like Adam Border, Anthony Tim and Jonathan Hosting etc. They are all talented players.

They season is about to start and I am excited to finally have the chance to watch StAlbans GFC. The players I have mentioned above are talents so there should be 10s of thousands of people there to watch them at there best. Round one sees StAlbans GFC play at home to Green Gully GFC. Gully were champions last year, beating Sunshine George Cross GFC 40 – 6.

The players enter the arena and there is a huge roar not for the champions but for the new comers StAlbans GFC, the champions on the other hand are disgusted and would like to see more respect towards them, because they are champions. Still the crowd roars and the players line up for the national anthem.

The game begins with StAlbans starting with the ball, and it’s Adam Border the captain who gets to start the first play. Adam passes it to Tony; Tony passes it Johnny and Johnny back to Adam, and Adam GGGOOOAAALLLLSSS!!! A six pointer for StAlbans GFC. The crowd goals wild YYYYEEEEHHHHHH!!!!!!! Adam and Johnny celebrate because it’s the first ever in the championship for StAlbans GFC.

All of a sudden the crowd feel a tremble, they get worried not knowing what it is. It stops and the crowd settle again. The crowd get focussed on the match again and StAlbans is winning at half time 18 – 12.

Again the crowd feel that mysterious tremble, but only this time they feel it a lot worse. Cracks start appearing in the sides of the stadiums and parts of the walls start falling off. One of the walls for straight on top of Adam and Tony! Johnny watches in despair as a 5 tonne concrete wall has crushed his team mates.

The stadium begins to collapse even worse with people in the crowd falling from the second level, that’s a 50-metre drop! Around 2500 people died in the tragic event. The StAlbans GFC now play a match every year devoted to the lives that were lost at the StAlbans GFC Stadium on the 6th of June 1935.

Gaelic Goals

These are the gaelic goals that I made for our project. Our stadium/Sports field is going to have different sports on it, so I thought that these were the main 2 sports that we would have in our project.

These are the soccer goals I created in class today. They were a pain in the back side for most of the process, but what isnt annoying in secondlife. It also doesnt help that the macs freeze or that the internet lags whilst buuilding objects. Overall i think the goals came out ok.

Kiosk/Stand

Me and simon created this simple but yet effective stand that we can use for around the stadium.

In todays class we got to use weapons - guns. We got to edit our weapons and make new bullets for them.

We talked about our major project we are going to now make a sports stadium that looks like its from the 1930s. Everything on SecondLife is futuristic so we thought that we will do something different and make something old.

Class Exercise.

This is an exercise we did today:

Built environment – The only urbanised section is the stadium and the outside will be a plain.

Life Pattern – No specific patterns of living.
Family – No family’s.
Fashion - People wear what ever they want except when games are being played in a stadium, a uniform will then be used.

Appearance - No typical appearance.
Social standing – None apply to our island.
Aim in life – To have fun!
Place in world – Typical resident.
Strength and weaknesses – No strengths or weaknesses.
Communication – Instant chat, emails and calling.
Sensory perception – Sight and sound.
Perception, memory – None, maybe records regarding the stadium e.g. game stats.

I MADE A SUBMARINE!

I made my first decent object in second life today. It's an awesome submarine. haha.

This is my person on second life. I didn't have time to change the appearance so I just left it as it was. I always use the fly option in second life because i can't do it in real life. Flying is so awesome and it beats walking haha.

These are the 3 islands i went to they were pretty cool. The soccer pitch was well designed and the games one look like a real arcade.
The car one was also very well done because the cars looked awesome.

Week 3 Class review

Today we finally got into second life, it was ok but the macs were lagging and second life would crash. I couldn't make an account which was strange, so i just used one of Dale's accounts. We talked about the island we are building on and we are all thinking of doing and Australian icon/monument like the MCG or the Telstra Dome.

Week 2

Today we spoke about the island that we will be creating on second life. We talked about things we will create on the island that people that come to our island can use. Such suggestions were : A night club
A race course
A theme park.

Second life looks so cool, when we saw Writing for multimedia we thought it was going to be boring like writing with pen and paper. The project in second life will be awesome.
